In the COVID-19 crisis, CITAP is here to assist you.  In the past weeks, we are working vigorously, communicating with various stakeholders.  On this opportunity, we would like to update you what actions we are taking.

  • CITAP Board has formed COVID-19 sub-committee to brainstorm the next step CITAP should take to support its membership. The sub-committee members are representing each membership categories.  We hold the meeting every 2 weeks.
  • Daily Conference Call held by Ministry of Small Business and Export Promotion

It has Q & A session.  We can ask questions relating to the federal government’s support.

  • TIAC (Tourism Industry Association of Canada)

CITAP is a member of TIAC.  We make sure our voices are heard at all levels of the government.

  • TIABC (tourism Industry Association of BC)

On March 21, we endorsed TIABC’s letter of recommendation to Minister Beare, Honorable Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of BC, together with nearly 40 stakeholders of tourism and hospitality sector.

  • In February, CITAP’s Executive Director participated in well over 17 radio and newspaper interview requests in response to the impact the coronavirus is having on our industry. About half of these interviews by journalists were forwarded to us from TIABC.
