Event Summary

As the snow starts to melt, the cherry blossoms bloom, and vaccination campaigns move to the next stages, our thoughts turn to travel recovery. CITAP continues to be innovative and is offering members a complimentary education and networking function this March and April, to help reconnect after 2020’s long “Tourism Freeze”.

Paid RTO Members will be invited to attend complimentary organized Zoom presentations provided by “Pods” of Seller Members in the form of regional educational sessions. Q&A networking opportunity will be at the end of each of the 30-minute sessions.

A lot has changed over the past 11 months, so this is a great way for RTOs to keep up to date and prepare future itineraries. While we are still faced with many uncertainties, we can count on one thing: tourism demand is pent up and people want to travel!

This is a complimentary* members-only event, so please ensure to renew your membership if you have not already done so.

Please find a short FAQ about the event below:

  • Each Spring Thaw event will be 2.5 hours long
  • The event will start with a short introduction, after which sellers will be sent into breakout rooms. We will end with a short wrap up all together again
  • The entire event (2.5 hours) will be divided into 5 sessions of 30 minutes
  • Five sellers will be grouped together in a ‘pod’ sharing geographical similarities
  • Each pod will be assigned a Zoom breakout room where they will remain for the duration of the event
  • RTO buyers will be divided into small groups (2-4 depending on registrations) and will shift between pods as a group every 30 minutes
  • Sellers will have 5 minutes per 30-minute period to present their offer
  • Each 30-minute period will end with a 5-minute Q&A with the RTOs

Please note that sellers are permitted only 1 registration per organization. RTOs are permitted 2 registrations per organization, per session. RTOs are encouraged to attend both sessions.

Participants can present content (PPT) but this is not mandatory. If you intend to have a presentation though, please note that the deadline to submit PPTs to the CITAP office is March 25th, 5 pm PDT. After that date, it will no longer be possible to submit.

PPTs should be no longer than 3-4 slides and cannot include video content. Video content should not be used throughout the event.

Housekeeping

Members cannot attend as observers. This is an interactive business event for members to conduct business on the virtual “floor”.

  • Please be on time! Members cannot enter the event once it has started. Zoom does not allow for participants to join a breakout room once it is created. We highly recommend that you join at least 5 minutes before the start of the event.
